“I Support the Delhi Odd-Even Scheme”

It’s time to take a stand against pollution & unlivable cities and stand up for a clean, livable environment and so I support the Odd-Even initiative by Delhi govt as a first step to clean up Delhi's pollution. 

From Jan 1, 2016 on even days I will start car-pooling with other MPs wherever and whenever possible. I have been driving a hybrid powered car for some months now and so technically am exempt from the #OddEven guidelines. But I intend to continue to carpool regardless and will encourage many others to do so!

We have to make it work for Delhi’s sake, and I am happy to extend to it my full support!

The levels of pollution have skyrocketed in Delhi with levels reaching almost 10 times beyond what is considered safe. The situation is so bad in Delhi that its air has PM2.5 concentrations of 153 micrograms and PM10 concentrations of 286 micrograms–making Delhi the most polluted city in the world, as per the World Health Organization (WHO).
